Formerly known as Louisiana Heron, The Tricolored Heron is a characteristic bird of quiet shallow waters.Strikingly slender, with long bill, neck, and legs, it is often seen wading belly-deep in coastal lagoons. It's diet consist of mostly crustaceans (crayfish, prawns), insects (aquatic insects and grasshoppers), tadpoles, frogs, salamanders, lizards, spiders.
This Heron is made of two pieces of tupelo. the legs and feet are copper with an acrylic compound for texture. Painted in the traditional Tri - heron colors , the base is finished in a swirl pattern of black and amber it will add life to any table or shelve. It was created in February of 2017 and took 25 hours.
